![]() ![]() ![]() In the very first line of the first stanza, the poet recalls a particular incident when he was at a loose end, perhaps not knowing where to go and what to do at that particular time, and so using a simile he states that he roamed around aimlessly and all by himself, “wandered lonely” like a solitary cloud that gently moves or glides “floats” over the valleys in hills without a particular direction or destination in mind, perhaps allowing himself to be simply led by the flow of the wind.
